Sandlot Fellowship

The Long Time Texas hosts one paid fellow/intern per cycle (Summer and Winter) who will gain experience in the following areas of operation of the venue:

  • Event Production (The Long Time Presents…)

  • Private Rental Management

  • Sponsor Management

  • Membership Management

  • The Long Times Publications

  • Digital Marketing with Instagram, web management (Squarespace), and The Short Times emails (Mailchimp)

  • And More!

The Fellowship runs on two cycles, summer and winter. The summer cycle is considered Mid-June to Mid-September (12 weeks). The winter cycle is considered January to March (12 weeks). The fellow will be expected to work 12 to 16 hours each week.

Eligibility

  • Anyone may apply.

  • A successful candidate will be able to work at least 10 out of the 12 weeks in-person and on-site (in Austin).

  • A successful candidate will be able to work at least half of their 12 to 16 hours per week in-person and on-site (in Austin).

Application Process

  1. The application will open approximately two months before the start date of the Fellowship. Once application opens, send an email to hey@thelongtime.com with your CV attached and in the body of the email, write a few sentences about why you’re interested in working at The Long Time.

  2. If selected as a finalist, you will receive an email from hey@thelongtime.com to set up a phone interview.

  3. After phone interviews, a selection will be made and confirmed with the successful candidate no later than one month before the advertised start date.

  4. All applicants will be notified that a selection has been made.

More Details

  • Entry and exit meetings will be arranged with owner and artist, Jack Sanders, allowing the fellow quality time with the person that started it all.

  • Each cycle coincides with at least one major event at The Long Time which the fellow will be expected to attend and work at, gaining firsthand experience of the venue in action.

  • After each of the first two months, the fellow will be asked to “invoice” for the hours they work. This report will include hours worked and provide details of the specific tasks completed. After approval, a set monthly stipend will be sent to the fellow.

  • After the third and final month of the Fellowship, the standard invoice is required, and in addition, the Fellow will prepare a report which details their activities during the Fellowship. After the successful submission of this final invoice and report, the third stipend will be released.
